Pulses

Description

The country produces a variety of pulses, including lentil, chickpea, pigeon pea, mung bean, black gram, field pea, cowpea, horse gram, and moth bean. Pulses are an essential source of protein for the Bangladeshi population, and their cultivation plays a crucial role in ensuring food security and nutrition. Farmers in Bangladesh mainly cultivate pulses during the Rabi season, which starts in November and lasts until April. The government also provides support to farmers through various initiatives, such as providing high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and subsidies, to encourage the cultivation of pulses.
